Pretty Little Things

Today, some of my favorite styling vignettes I found on the internet. Sometimes it’s the little accents or accessories we can add in our homes that create so much joy and love. I’ve been preparing for an upcoming photo shoot for a few of my recently completed projects and in my research I’ve collected a bunch of great images that I want to share with you.

Ok, let’s be real here, I know these images are staged and curated and the moment the kids come home it all a forking mess right? It’s a process and a continual effort to keep things organized and clean. But with that being said, I think you can add a few pretty little things here and there that takes your space to a higher level. We are such visual creatures right? Just looking at pretty pictures automatically elevates our mood, It’s a proven fact. So here are some images and ideas to create some warmth and beauty in your home.

I love everything about this composition. This is a great idea for an entry foyer console or even bedroom dresser. Think about grouping items together on a book and choose similar colors, this pink color is gorge. Instead of continually cutting fresh flowers, try using pampas grass and dried cotton branches, they last such a long time and add a sense of warmth and coziness. And try mixing different materials, like Interior stylist Tara Wokulski did here with the ceramic vase and plate with the wood bowl and spoon.

Try layering framed pictures on a console, these two pictures really compliment each other. Adding a lamp and fresh flowers on one side balance out the space. The basket underneath acts as storage for extra throw blankets.

I love the pops of color the accessories add in this all white kitchen photographed by Emily Gilbert. A lazy susan is such a good idea, like the one shown here from Food 52. It organizes items together in a group and makes it fun and easy to grab things at the dinner table. When you are not using it at dinnertime, you can curate it with some decorative objects like a pretty vase and a fruit bowl….you get the idea.

A lamp and small vase of cut flowers….all you really need for a lovely little detail. This side table has lots of storage for books and what not, which helps keep the side table clutter free.

Simplicity in a small nook of a bedroom, I love it. The great thing about pendants instead of a table lamp is that it frees up the side table. Here we just have a couple of small vases with some twigs, goes with the neutral oatmeal colors of the bedding. I’ve been seeing a lot of sticks and twigs in vases lately, they look great and are free! A good excuse to take a walk in the woods or the park.

Styling bookshelves can be pretty overwhelming. This is a beautiful example of how incorporating a few decorative items peppered in with a few books adds so much more interest right? Notice how the books are turned different ways, this is what I would call a successfully curated bookcase.

I dig this collection of cutting boards, they’re useful but also decorative, especially when you find really unique shapes. The shelving is minimal and not cluttered. All you need are a few books, a cactus and a few small bowls. I always like to have lemons in a bowl on the counter, the color always makes me happy.

This is pretty, just a simple round wood tray with a few different sized candles (the tray will also protect the coffee table surface from wax spillage). A glass vase with freshly cut flowers is always a good idea.
