Let me tell you why I love this bedroom, how to design your bedroom for a good night’s sleep and why it will make you feel calm, relaxed and energized when you wake up in the morning.

I love the black/white/gray as a color base, is very fresh and modern yet soothing. I’m loving the forest green accent on the pillows and bed throw, especially now that autumn is upon us, it’s the perfect cozy fall color (and also reminds me of nature/trees/forest). The layering of the pillows, with the different fabrics and textures, create warmth. The white walls with the simple molding and the white pendant in the foreground is a good example of subtle layering. The black metal frame on the artwork over the bed coordinates well with the minimal design of the side tables, which are very light and airy (not heavy). Here are some ideas to turn your bedroom into a peaceful oasis.

Keep it simple and cozy in the bedroom, you don’t need a lot of stuff. Clutter free space, clutter free mind. We want to hit the pillow with a clear head, read a book an hour before you shut off the lights. Keep your electronics out of the bedroom. Let me repeat that, keep your electronics out of the bedroom. We all know why at this point, I don’t have to tell you. Buy an alarm clock, this Arne Jacobsen clock by school house is super cute and takes up little space on the bedside table. Have some plants in the room…oxygen is cool. Have art that is soothing and promotes sleep. I always have a scented candle in my room, lavender helps to relax. Linen sheets are awesome, you’ll look forward to climbing into your bed every night.

I hope these affordable zen bedroom ideas help you love your bedroom and get the good night’s sleep you need.

and remember…… A Clutter Free Space=A Clutter Free Mind
