How to add unexpected color accents to your home decor

I love a neutral palette when it comes to interior design, with the right amount of textures and layers it can be super sophisticated yet warm and cozy. I think we all want the same thing at the end of the day, to come home to a space where we feel safe, warm and relaxed. A space where we can kick off our shoes, get in our lounge wear and cozy up on the sofa with a nice glass of wine, scotch, kombucha tea (whatever your choice bevy is), and look around our space and feel happy and at home within.

If you are a little hesitant to go all out neutral but can’t commit to a color, I would suggest adding color accents in accessories that are easy to change up in the future such as pillows, throws, artwork, decorative items, even painting a wall (you can always change it next year when your’e over pink). You can also add color accents to your home in surprising ways that are a little more unconventional, a special piece of furniture, accent tile on a back splash, cabinet door hardware, or even a fun wall paper on the ceiling. Below are inspiration images highlighting unexpected ways you can add a color accent to your neutral base.
